Which state is the best for business? Unfortunately, it's not Virginia.
Recently, CNBC issued its scorecard on state economic climate.Unfortunately, Virginia has fallen to 12th place. You can see the full rankings and methodology HERE.
Our endorsed candidate in the 10th Senate District, Glen Sturtevantexpressed his disappointment in the rankings, and his commitment to work for policies that will push Virginia back to the top of the list:
"I’m very disappointed to see that Virginia has fallen all the way to 12th in CNBC’s annual ranking of best states for business. This is Virginia's worst-ever ranking from CNBC, and as recently as 2011 we were #1. We need new leadership in Richmond to promote pro-growth economic policies that will make Virginia #1 again.
According to CNBC, Virginia ranks 37th in the nation for the “cost of doing business,” which evaluates the overall tax climate and incentives among other things. In the Senate, I will support policies that grow our economy and reduce the tax burden on hard working families and businesses."
And here at the Middle Resolution, we are committed to Glen Sturtevant's victory in November. This is a critical seat in the State Senate that the Democrats are desperate to win. Any gift you can make to support our efforts to help Glen is greatly appreciated!
