It was a monumental week at the U.S. Supreme Court this past week.
Are you armed with the facts about the two major decisions that were handed down? Both will have far reaching implications across our Nation for years to come.
On Thursday, a majority of 6 justices protected Obamacare yet again by upholding the subsidies issued by the federal government, despite the legislation clearly only authorizes subsidies issued by the "state." You can read more about the decision HERE.
Our Director of Legislation and Accountability, Craig DiSesa, commented on the King v Burwell decision with the following, "The six Supreme Court justicies who voted to uphold the Obamacare subsidies have just guaranteed themselves a footnote in Wikipedia under the term 'judicial activism!'"
Then on Friday, in a 5-4 decision, the Court legalized same-sex marriage in all 50 states in Obergefell v Hodges. You can read more about that decision in the Richmond Times-Dispatch and in the Daily Signal.
